The Soviet Montage theory

 The Soviet Montage theory;

It was an experiment done by the soviets. The audience in the first clip was shown a person with a blank expression and in the second clip food was shown, this portrayed that the man was perhaps hungry. The experiment was done thrice but each time the second shot was different, for the second one it was a dead body and for the third experiment it was a women. This experiment showed that the sequence of events matter thus this led to the Kuleshov effect, it is when contrast is created between two shots for example a shot of rich man is showed followed by a shot of a poor man. The soviets wanted industries to make meaningful associations with the combinations of shots. They insisted on keeping the editing style visible.
